The Matchup Team Is Growing– Welcome Our New iOS Developer, Mike!

We’re happy to announce the addition of an iOS developer to our growing team! For the past couple of months we’d been on the hunt to find a talented and driven iOS developer and luckily we found Mike. He’s jumped in and hit the ground running, making awesome improvements to the Matchup app and we couldn’t be happier to have him on board. Take a second and get to know the newest team member behind the Matchup iOS app.

Tell us a little bit about yourself.

I was born in Indianapolis, Indiana and moved to Naperville, IL when I was about 4 years old. I attended the University of Illinois-Chicago where I played baseball for four years. After college I decided to get into application development, and it has led to this great opportunity and given me a sense of self-fulfillment.  I love all sports, and sometimes anger my friends because I favor teams from Indianapolis over Chicago’s teams (besides the Cubs and Blackhawks).  I love every genre of music except country, and frequently attend Chicago’s summer music festivals.

What is something most people wouldn’t have guessed about you?

I have never left the country, yes I know this is a problem. I definitely would like to in the near future.

What is your favorite pastime or activity?

Favorite pastime would have to be going to sporting events or festivals with my friends. I also enjoy trivia.

What would your last meal on earth be?

Last meal on earth would have to be some type of lobster and steak combination, with au gratin potatoes. Is that too basic?

What inspires you?

I’m inspired by creating products that change people’s lives. This can be achieved in many ways, my avenue would obviously be by developing software, but it does not have to be constrained to just applications. My family and friends who have supported me throughout my life are also huge inspirations, and I want to make them proud.

If you could choose any trail around the world to trek through, where would it be and why?

Somewhere in Scandinavia. I would love to go snowboarding Norway. I’ve always been interested in visiting Australia as well.

What do you like about working at Matchup?

I like working at Matchup because the team is very welcoming. I’m writing this during my second week, and already feel at home. I also love the vision of the company and am excited to be an integral part of its growth.

Welcome aboard Mike!
