Stridekick 2016 Year in Review – How Far We’ve Traveled

Small steps in the right direction, lead to large leaps that progress you to where you’re trying to go. And as 2016 comes to a close, we wanted to reflect on our year as a product and team to recognize the strides we’ve taken to get to where we are today- new product updates, fun features, cool new clients, talented team members, and more. We tackled 2016 with full speed ahead. Our aspirations for the year were big, but as we knew from 2015, there’s nothing our team couldn’t tackle with style and grace.

Throughout 2016 our community grew rapidly. New goals to be met, stories to be heard and competition to be had. Each day we stepped as a community towards a healthier more active lifestyle and we thought it’d be fun to compile our stats as a group to calculate exactly how far we’ve come along our journey in 2016. Take a look.

2016 Year in Review

With the new year came new challenges to solve, features to build and a new name. In may of 2016, we changed our name from Matchup Fitness to Stridekick. Our rebrand brought a new logo, fun designs and an updated look and feel to the app. At this time we also introduced Stridekick News Feed- a place to view aggregated healthy lifestyle and fitness content, hear from and connect with brand influencers and better interact with your Stridekick community.

Next came Stridekick for Android, which opened up the playing field and helped to grow the Stridekick community tremendously. With Android came our Google Fit integration allowing a larger array of devices to connect to Stridekick; Polar, Xiaomi and Pebble to name a few.

In September, with Apple’s iOS 10 release, came Stridekick stickers! We created a new palette of fun fitness and health inspired stickers to jazz up your iMessages!

Taking on React Native was intertwined between all these new features throughout the year. Our developers took on the huge task of learning a whole new coding language and re-building our app to improve efficiency and speed.

As the year comes to a close, we’re wrapping up our new and improved Group Experience Manager tool, also known as GEM. Clients save time and money with easier participant management, program customizations and data exporting. It’s the one stop shop for everything corporate wellness and what you need to get any group moving!

We couldn’t have done any of this without all of you. Thank you for your continued Stridekick excellence and join us as we step into 2017, with our best foot forward. Let’s get moving, together!
